In the month of October, four phones of the Redmi Note 12 series were released – Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro+, and Redmi Note 12 Discovery. Yesterday, the fifth member was added to the Note 12 series – Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition.
Redmi Note 12 Pro has 67W wired charging support. The name may suggest that Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition has faster charging than 12 Pro, but in fact, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Speed Edition are getting the same 67W fast charging feature. Also, like the non-Speed model, there is a 5000 mAh battery. There are also QC3+, PD2.0 and PD3.0 charging protocols.
In terms of design, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition looks very similar to the Note 12 Pro. Here Xiaomi has only slightly changed the camera island design and moved the Redmi branding from the bottom to the top.
This phone looks a lot like Poco smartphones. No wonder it comes under the Poco brand in markets outside of China. Although it is similar to the non-Speed version in terms of dimensions and battery size, the weight of the Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is relatively light, 181 grams.
The main difference between Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is in the chipset and camera department. The Redmi Note 12 Pro phone had a Dimension 1080 chipset and a 50-megapixel primary camera. Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition has a Snapdragon 778G chipset and a 108-megapixel Samsung Isocell HM2 camera. There is an 8-megapixel ultrawide and a 2-megapixel macro unit.
Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition features a 6.67-inch FullHD+ 120Hz 10bit OLED display. There is a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front of the phone. You will get a side-mounted fingerprint on the phone.
Along with 5G connectivity, this phone has NOC chip. USB-C and 3.5mm. A headphone jack is also present here. Besides, the phone will support Dolby Vision and Hi-Res Audio. The phone also gets stereo speakers, X-axis linear motor, and IP53 rating.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro phone had Android 12 based MIUI 13 software. Meanwhile, Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition will get MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition will be available in Black, Blue and Green colors.
