The target audience for this new gadget is those who want added security while hiking, fishing, skiing, or touring. It will also be useful for anyone in remote areas. It can be used for emergency communications during events such as hurricanes, blackouts or earthquakes.

This gadget has a 600 mAh battery which according to the manufacturer will provide backup for a day. Waterproof and shock-resistant, this device can be used outdoors with ease. The location can be shared using the two physical buttons in it and emergency support can be contacted if the DeFi satellite link is not connected to the smartphone.

However, there is no facility to easily connect to the satellite link and send messages using iMessage or WhatsApp. To use this facility, Bullitt's own messaging app Bullitt Satellite Messenger must be used. If connected to WiFi or mobile network, this app will work like a normal messaging app The message sent from the satellite mode app will go as SMS and the receiver will get the link to install the app. Although this is a somewhat messy means of communication, it can certainly come in handy in an emergency.
