Messaging Feature is Coming Back to Facebook App

Many of today's Facebook users still don't know that earlier there was a direct messaging option from the Facebook app. But at one time Messenger was removed from Facebook mobile app. If you have been a regular visitor of banglatech site since about 9 years ago then you might have seen our post about this. Meta is going to bring back the feature after almost 9 years of closure.

That means Facebook and Messenger can be used again from the same app. As a result, Messenger can be enjoyed only from the Facebook app, without the need for two separate apps.

Facebook head at Meta, Tom Ellison, recently revealed in a blog post that users are testing the ability to access their Messenger from the Facebook app, which will soon roll out to more users. He also said that if the facility of using the messenger directly from the Facebook app comes, the communication and sharing will be much easier for the users.

Messenger was removed from the Facebook app in 2014. It is said that the main goal of the company is to make Messenger the best mobile messaging experience and eliminate any kind of confusion.

However, it is not yet known whether the facility of messaging will return smoothly in the mobile browser version of Facebook. Since 2016, mobile web users have been forced to use the Messenger app to view Facebook messages. The bottom line is that having one less app on the phone is not a bad thing. Since Facebook and Instagram messaging have been integrated, messages can also be sent to Instagram through Messenger when it returns to the Facebook app.

Recently, Meta published a blog post about Meta's goal in 2023. In this post, Meta assures Facebook users that “Facebook is not dead nor dying,” meaning that Facebook is still active. Besides, Facebook's 2 billion users are also mentioned.

As part of competing with TikTok, Meta has transformed Facebook from an app for connecting with friends and family to an entertainment app. Ellison directly stated in a blog post that Meta is working to make Facebook the best place for “social discovery and sharing”.

There are many reasons to bring back the messaging feature in the Facebook app. First of all, messaging can be done from the Facebook app at any time and for any need, as a result of which there is no need to switch to an additional app to share or communicate. Also, the benefits of having one less app on the phone goes without saying.

After watching a video, TikTok users can easily share it with their friends through the built-in direct messaging feature. Facebook may be going back to its previous form due to competition with competitors.
